Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen, China, has reached completion. The 599-meter supertall tower, for which Thornton Tomasetti provided structural design including performance-based design, has been recognized as the fourth tallest building in the world by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates provided the architectural design for the 115-story office tower, which is owned by Ping An Life Insurance Company of China, Ltd.

EW Howell Construction Group has been tapped by repeat-client Stony Brook University as the contractor for its new, $63 million Student Services Center. Designed by Spector Group, the building will house the bursar’s office, financial aid office, registrar, admissions and other facilities. It’s scheduled for completion in 2019.

The Ted Moudis Associates-designed space for PJ Mechanical at 55 Broad Street is featured in this week’s The Plan. The HVAC construction and installation company moved into a new, 25,695 s/f office that features concrete polished floors, social meeting spaces, conference rooms, private-glassed offices and LED lights. The nearly 50 year old company installed its own ductwork!
