The January issue of The Real Deal took a look at the Stamford, Conn. and Westchester, NY biotech, office and residential markets. The office market in Stamford has experienced a surge of high-end office vacancies. Tom Pajolek of CBRE, which provided data for the article, says that we must wean ourselves from the financial services sector. This tenant base has left the Stamford market with a few large blocks of vacant office space. CBRE data was also used in the suburban report, which notes that Chinese investors are cashing in on Westchester and Fairfield.
