A new, 5,936 SF lease for Global Health Corps at GFP’s 318 West 39th Street is featured in GlobeSt’s Middle Market Digest. GFP Real Estate arranged the seven-year lease for the leadership development organization focused on health equity that was co-founded by presidential daughter Barbara Bush.

Hines and Welltower Inc. have broken ground for Sunrise at East 56th, a seniors housing property scheduled for construction at 139 E. 56th St. in Midtown Manhattan. Named Welltower, the 16-story tower will be the neighborhood’s first purpose-built assisted living and memory care community. Designed by SLCE, the property will feature complementary retail at the base and 151 assisted living and memory care units.Community amenities will include dining rooms, a salon, exercise facilities, medical examination rooms, an art studio and a theater. Slated for completion in early 2020, Sunrise Senior Living will operate the development. Champalimaud is serving as interior designer for the property.

The listing appeared in the “On the Market” column of The New York Times.

Avison Young Principal and Brooklyn native, Martin Cottingham, is quoted in a Commercial Observer article that discusses the difficulty private schools are having finding space in Brooklyn as the residential market there thrives and more space is needed. Cottingham said prices have been challenging for private schools, which prefer to own than lease because they want to be in an area for a long period of time and not worry about having to move every few years.

Building and Land Technology has welcomed Mexicue to its tenant roster at Harbor Point. The restaurant, which features a menu inspired by Mexican tradition with a twist of the American South, opened in late February at the mixed-use waterfront development in Stamford, Conn. The location marks Mexicue’s first location outside of New York City. The restaurant will include two floors, each with its own outdoor space, including a spacious roof deck and private event space. It joins the dozen award-winning bars and restaurants at Harbor Point; including Fortina, Prime, Crabshell, Boothbay Lobster, Bareburger, Sign of the Whale, Le Pain Quotidien, Dinosaur BBQ, and Harlan Social.

A luxury condominium project, The Fitzroy at 514 West 24th Street in Manhattan’s West Chelsea neighborhood owned by JDS Development and Largo Investments received a $91M first mortgage loan from Madison Realty Capital. The 10-story new development houses 14 luxury homes. The loan from Madison will cover existing loans and costs of completing renovations such as the finishes, elevators, common areas and facade work. Construction is anticipated Summer 2018.
