Grant Dolgin of Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates represented repeat-client Cadogan Tate, a London-based fine arts storage company in a new, 29,000 s/f lease at 260 Spagnoli Road in Melville. The property, owned by Gold Realty NY, is currently under construction. Cadogan Tate has additional locations in Brooklyn, Long Island City and Astoria. The owner, who was represented by Jeffrey Schwartzberg and Jason Miller of Premier Commercial Real Estate, will occupy the additional 6,000 s/f at the property.

EW Howell Construction Group is profiled as the cover story of the Sunday business section. The 125-year-old firm, the oldest on Long Island, has seen waves of development from the late 1800’s through World War II, starting out as a builder for gilded Gold Coast mansions and transitioning to projects in the education, healthcare, arts & culture and retail sectors. EW Howell is currently building one of the Island’s largest projects, the Stony Brook Medical and Research Translation project.

Savanna has filed plans for a 32-story residential condo tower with 170 apartments at 543 West 122nd Street, on a site that was once owned by the Jewish Theological Seminary in Morningside Heights. The name of the development will be Vandewater, after Jacobus van de Water, who was the mayor of New Amsterdam in the 17th century.

The 100,000 s/f office building in Bedminster, NJ is getting a series of upgrades. The building at 550 Hills Drive is being renovated by Kimmerle Newman Architects and Avison Young. The firm, working on behalf of New York Life Real Estate Investors, is overseeing improvements to the lobby atrium, meeting and conference center, tenant lounge, fitness center and elevators. The brokerage team of Jeffrey Heller and William McCaffrey of Avison Young note that there are two, 37,000 s/f full-floor availabilities for rent asap.

Compass, a residential real estate brokerage, has expanded its global headquarters at 90 Fifth Avenue by 25,000 s/f. This expansion comes less than a month after signing a deal for an Upper West Side office. The deal is for the 10th and 11th floors, bringing the company’s footprint in the Union Square office to 115,000 s/f. The company has grown its business from its startup days at 90 Fifth, first taking two full floors, and now occupying the entire office portion of the property. AJ Camhi was the in-house representation for the landlord, RFR Realty, in addition to JLL’s Jon Fanuzzi, Mitchell Konsker, Dan Turkewitz and Adam Haber. Ethan Silverstein of C&W represented the tenant.
