An article in the Commercial Observer's Owner's Issue focuses on Manhattan landlords like GFP Real Estate, a family-owned real estate company founded in 1950, who are making it a mission to help nonprofits, which often don't have the resources to afford high rents, stay in Manhattan. GFP owns 11 million SF of office space in NYC, three million of which is occupied by nonprofits. GFP wants to find ways to help these nonprofits do their work, and Manhattan gives them better access to board of directors, donors and transit.
