Darcy Stacom, Chairman and Head of NYC Capital Markets for CBRE, assembled a powerhouse contingent of women commercial real estate industry leaders to support the 2021 Boogie Frights Hulaween Event for the New York Restoration Project. Stacom served as chairman of the costume-themed event, raising more than $1.7 million to invest in and steward the city’s parks and gardens, and helping organization founder Bette Midler achieve NYRP’s fundraising and attendance goals.

The Praedium Group sold The Views at Harbortown apartments for $98.85 million to San Diego-based Viewpoint Equities. The four-story, 300-unit community at 14030 Atlantic Blvd. in Jacksonville, Fla. was built in 2014. The amenities include two resort-style swimming pools with cabanas, a clubhouse with a kitchen, multiple lounge areas, billiards and several televisions.

Elements such as View Smart Windows are key in helping Denver’s office properties to attract tenants, as post-pandemic, offices are now designed with the needs and desires of people in mind.

Yay! The annual Fried, Frank real estate holiday party is coming back after a year off from the pandemic. When COVID-19 sidelined the event last year, chairman Jon Mechanic commissioned a jigsaw puzzle from images of past years’ revels and sold them for charity. Mechanic assures the party will call for proof of vaccinations.

Dezeen features Climate Pledge Arena, a 17,000-seat venue in Seattle, Washington designed by Populous. The venue will serve as the home to the Seattle Kraken NHL team and also host concerts and other large-scale events. Populous was commissioned to design the stadium by the City of Seattle and the developer Oak View Group. Amazon purchased the naming rights and opted to name the arena after the retailer’s Climate Pledge initiative, which calls on companies to be net-zero carbon by 2040.

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. will install View Smart Windows into its new $70 million Martire Family Arena hockey and skating venue. Because of the windows’ elecrochromic glazing working in concert with artificial intelligence, glare and heat will be controlled, allowing the ice to stay solid and not melt. The 4,000-seat venue is part of a multi-year expansion of the Fairfield, Conn., campus and is projected to open in early 2023.
