Yay! The annual Fried, Frank real estate holiday party is coming back after a year off from the pandemic. When COVID-19 sidelined the event last year, chairman Jon Mechanic commissioned a jigsaw puzzle from images of past years’ revels and sold them for charity. Mechanic assures the party will call for proof of vaccinations.

Dezeen features Climate Pledge Arena, a 17,000-seat venue in Seattle, Washington designed by Populous. The venue will serve as the home to the Seattle Kraken NHL team and also host concerts and other large-scale events. Populous was commissioned to design the stadium by the City of Seattle and the developer Oak View Group. Amazon purchased the naming rights and opted to name the arena after the retailer’s Climate Pledge initiative, which calls on companies to be net-zero carbon by 2040.

Real estate investment and development firm CommonWealth Partners, petroleum distribution company Buckeye Partners and health care investment firm TCG Crossover nabbed a total of 8,000 square feet at Savanna’s 106 West 56th Street, also known as The Six, for each company’s first office in New York City.

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. will install View Smart Windows into its new $70 million Martire Family Arena hockey and skating venue. Because of the windows’ elecrochromic glazing working in concert with artificial intelligence, glare and heat will be controlled, allowing the ice to stay solid and not melt. The 4,000-seat venue is part of a multi-year expansion of the Fairfield, Conn., campus and is projected to open in early 2023.

Castle Lanterra Properties

Castle Lanterra Properties acquired two multifamily properties totaling 315 units in the Long Island communities of Hempstead and West Hempstead for $136 million. Mill Creek Residential originally developed the communities in 2012. USB Realty Investors sold the assets to Castle Lanterra for an undisclosed price. Jose Cruz, Steve Simonelli, Andrew Scandalios, Jeffrey Julien, Michael Oliver and Kevin O’Hearn of JLL brokered the deal.

Treeline, a Garden City, NY real estate investment firm, has acquired a 66,274 square-foot Class A industrial building at 3700 US Highway 421 North in Wilmington, N.C. and an adjacent newly constructed 40,000 square-foot industrial property at 3720 US Highway 421 North for $9 million. Treeline currently has several more deals in contract in North Carolina and is actively pursuing additional industrial and office investments in the Raleigh, Charlotte, and Wilmington areas, as well as others in South Carolina.

Toronto-based construction-focused workforce intelligence company Bridgit has raised CA$ 24 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Camber Creek and Storm Ventures. Camber Creek sees a lot of expansion for Bridgit through Camber Creek’s existing user groups as these add more users. The firm has a bullish outlook for Brigit, as “we see a good product market fit and strong growth prospects and believe we can help them expand to more users and markets, helping them accelerate growth.”
