View, Inc.’s Smart Windows will be installed during phase two of construction at The Interlock, a $750 million mixed-use property developed by SJC Ventures in the West Midtown neighborhood of Atlanta. The windows use artificial intelligence to adjust automatically in response to the sun. The recently passed Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, the country’s most ambitious energy and climate policy to date, extends the Investment Tax Credit to include smart windows. Phase two of The Interlock is scheduled to open in early 2024 and will offer 275,000 square feet of commercial space and 180,000 square feet of creative office space, plus 670 beds for Georgia Tech student housing.

Global design firm Populous has been selected to reimagine the passenger experience for planned expansions at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas. The firm will lead all components of experiential design development, interior design and visioning related to a passenger’s journey throughout the airport complex. The program includes renovations to the airport’s existing Barbara Jordan Terminal, a new below-grade passenger tunnel and a new Midfield Concourse with space for up to 30 gates. The project will also build in flexibility for the future — plans beyond 2030 include a complete renovation and expansion of passenger facilities, such as a new passenger ticketing and processing hall.
