Landmark Properties, a local developer with a substantial portfolio in Atlanta, has created four new c-suite roles, promoting leaders within the company. President and CEO of Landmark, Wes Rogers, relinquishes his presidential title to become chairman ⏤ a new role within the company. Walt Templin has been appointed Landmark’s new president; he will also assume the role of chief investment officer and work with company leaders to accelerate student housing and build-to-rent development across the U.S., as well as facilitate Landmark’s expansion into European markets. Jason Doornbos has been promoted to chief development officer after serving as the company’s executive managing director of development since 2010. Art Templin has been named Landmark’s chief operating officer of development and construction, and Porter McDonald will serve as the firm’s executive managing director of investment. Since its launch in 2004, Landmark Properties has amassed a portfolio of more than 100 residential properties across the U.S., featuring approximately 72,000 beds. Learn more here.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution talks with Wes Rogers, CEO and founder of Landmark Properties, about its growth and expansion plans at home, abroad and within the BTR sector. The Athens and Atlanta-based student housing developer recently announced plans to acquire a portion of the parking lot owned by local landmark The Varsity and build a student housing community adjacent to the restaurant. JT Magen has completed a new global headquarters space for Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC , a privatelyheld investment management firm, at 30 Hudson Street in Jersey City, NJ. The company served as construction manager for the project, which spans 178,107 square feet across five floors, Lord, Abbett & Co. relocated from 90 Hudson Street. Read the full story here.

Check out this month’s issue of retrofit for a closer look at the five-year, multi-phased renovation at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. One of the most iconic sports venues in the world, it has hosted more Super Bowls—including Super Bowl LIX this past February—than any other venue. The renovations were designed to enhance the fan experience, improve accessibility and guest circulation, meet code compliance and prolong the venue’s longevity, safety and prominence for years to come. A New York Post article dives into the redevelopment RFR’s Aby Rosen has for Trylons at 145-155 E. 42nd Street. Rosen mentions the 13,000 square-foot lot can support 100,000 square feet of floor space as-of-right once the old structure is demolished, and could be built much larger and taller. The Trylons were commissioned by former Chrysler Building owner Tishman Speyer. Philip Johnson’s design consists of three sharp-edged glass triangles between two boxy, banal retail structures. Simone Development Companies has signed a new long-term lease with New York Blood Center, a community-based blood supplier, for a 3,906 square-foot blood donation and collection center at the Throggs Neck Shopping Center in Bronx, NY. Scheduled to open in summer 2025, New York Blood Center joins a prestigious lineup of tenants at Throggs Neck Shopping Center, from medical services providers to retail giants and popular eateries. Only one prime 950 square-foot endcap space remains available at one of the borough’s most successful retail locations. Read more here.

William J. Ferguson, co-chairman and chief executive officer of Ferguson Partners, an executive search firm, is quoted in a Pensions & Investments article. Between 2022 and 2024, there were 19 announced acquisitions of infrastructure managers or real estate managers, up from five from 2017 through 2021, according to the firm’s research. These numbers point to how Infrastructure is rapidly growing in capital raising and deployment, even as real estate has been struggling. Read the full story here.
