An Ariel team comprised of Victor Sozio, Shimon Shkury, Jason Gold, Daniel Mahfar, and Gabriel Elyaszadeh represented the seller in the transaction. Data from a report by Ariel Property Advisors is featured in The Real Deal. Focused on Brooklyn, it shows that high interest rates dealt a big blow to investment sales in 2023 compared to a record-breaking 2022, accounting for just $5.1 billion vs. $9.5 billion the year prior. Deals for multifamily properties saw the biggest drop, trading 56 percent lower in dollar volume. It was the lowest total in a decade, besides the first pandemic year, 2020. One bright spot was in the commercial sector, which saw a 60 percent increase in dollar volume and had the second-best year ever. Read more here.
