Apperly notes that Amazon’s services and products will become a necessity — if two out of five new multifamily developments have Amazon products, renters and buyers will come to expect them in the next three. Things one can find in multifamily developments include the Echo Dot, Amazon lockers, Prime subscriptions, and more. The Marketing Directors is working on Steel Works, a new, 286-unit apartment complex in Harrison, NJ, and each unit features a built-in sound system and Echo Dot with “Alexa” voice service.

The Fairfield County Business Journal reports an increase in commercial office sales in Fairfield County. Avison Young’s Sean Cahill, principal and managing director of the firm’s Fairfield/Westchester office, notes that year-to-date office sales volume in dollars was only marginally lower in 2017 vs. 2016, while third-quarter sales were 27 percent higher this year than in the third quarter of 2016. While a little behind nationally, Fairfield County’s average of office property sales price of $204 PSF shows a strengthening over the past two to three years.

Office Insight features the new offices of Orion Worldwide, a global media agency, which recently moved into an existing space in New York City. Ted Moudis Associates was tasked with transforming the space for Orion, developing a playful and creative design strategy while being mindful of financial constraints. TMA was able t o salvage much of the existing materials from the already built-out space. One of the coolest features of hte office is a walking track lining the office’s core, promoting movement, well-being and energy.
