CBRE’s Thomas Connor represented Shibumi in a new, 2,900 SF lease at SoNo 50, the corporate center at 50 Washington Street in Norwalk, CT. Another CBRE team of Tom Pajolek and Lauren Crowley Corrinet represented a technology company in another lease at the building, this one for 7,200 SF.

She forecasts a strong year for commercial real estate as low supply and high demand drive prices higher. She also notes that there have been a high rate of mergers in the healthcare division, and that could affect the industry’s real estate decisions.

CBRE’s John Reinertsen and a team from Pantheon Properties represented the seller, TCW Leasing Co. in the $26M sale of a 120,000 SF two-building industrial complex in the Bronx. The buyer was a joint venture between MRP Realty and AEW Capital Management.

The new offices for AlphaSights, designed by Ted Moudis Associates, are featured in the Commercial Observer‘s “The Plan.” The company, which helps top executives address challenges by connecting them to industry experts moved into a 47,000 SF space at RFR Realty’s 350 Madison Avenue. TMA made a series of curved lines on the ceiling by using dark and white exposed and dropped ceilings, evoking connections that were being made, much like the tenant’s line of work.

CBRE represented the buyer, an affiliate of DSF Group, in the $50.5 million purchase of Avalon Milford, a 246-unit apartment complex in Connecticut. The seller was AvalonBay Communities. DSF has renamed the property Halstead Milford.

In 2010, a broker from Rutenberg NYC and her husband found a fixer-upper in Central Harlem. Holly Williams Brittain served as the architect and designer for the renovation, while her husband managed finances and construction. Last month, the couple sold the three-family town home at 208 Lenox Avenue for $4.59M, a record price for Central Harlem and the second highest ever paid for a Harlem townhouse. The renovation and subsequent sale are featured in the Wall Street Journal.
