Michelle Wells, executive vice president of investor relations, Waterton, has been named one of Multifamily Executive’s Women of Influence. Early in her career, she fell in love with real estate, the excitement of the deals, and the relationships. Michelle joined Waterton in 2013 and today, serves as the executive vice president of investor relations. She is responsible for fund strategy development and capital raising and oversees ongoing investor and consultant relations, marketing, and internal and external communications. Michelle is also founder and chair of Waterton Women, an internal group that meets quarterly for both professional and personal development. She also participates on the firm’s investment and culture committees and is the chair of its management committee. She also has served on the Women in Real Estate’s board, an organization dedicated to providing a networking venue for women in the private equity real estate business, in both San Francisco and Chicago, and was a mentor for the Goldie Initiative, another organization dedicated to women in the commercial real estate industry.

RFR today announced six new leases totaling 28,111 SF at 17 State Street, its 42-story, 571,000 s/f office tower in Lower Manhattan. New tenants at the building include ABR Dynamic Funds, SHS Asset Management L.P., Samson II Corp, Edward Roberts LLC, Protax Services Corp and Robert Wisniewski P.C. will join the diverse tenant roster at the iconic office tower. RFR was represented in-house by AJ Camhi and Ryan Silverman in each of the transactions.

As the firm approaches its 30th anniversary, it points to its senior team’s average tenure of 21 years with Praedium, a notable fact given higher turnover rates throughout the industry. Collaboration and teamwork are important features of Praedium’s culture and the firm continually asks employees for input on policies. The firm is also active in its community, with many property managers having organized corporate community service events and giving campaigns. This has included partnering with local food banks, homeless shelters or ministries, or raising funds for philanthropies such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society.

In the “Forward Progress” section of Athletic Business’ April 2021 issue is the recently completed Florida Ballpark at Alfred A. McKethan Field at University of Florida in Gainsville, which had its season opener on February 19. The $65 million project, designed by Populous, features 360-degree viewing access throughout and a tiered seating bowl with capacity for 7,000 fans. Designed with fan comfort in mind, the facility is sited to maximize shade, and canopies and ceiling fans were used throughout to help fans stay cool amid warm temperatures.
