Taiwan-based Sunlit Chemical purchased 17 acres in Phoenix from Mack Real Estate Group, near Seventh Avenue and Alameda Road in the Mack Innovation Park. Sunlit Chemical is the first semiconductor manufacturing supplier to occupy one of the supplier sites.

An article in The Real Deal talks about the growing interest and use of mass timber for commercial construction in the U.S., which is touted as more sustainable than steel and concrete, and can speed up construction times as most of it can be prefabricated. John Peronto, a senior principal and co-Chicago office director at Thornton Tomasetti, is quoted in the article, discussing the use of mass timber in Ascent, the firm’s project for New Land Enterprises.

Charleys Philly Steaks has inked a 1,500-SF, 10-year lease for its second location in the Bronx and its fifth in New York City at the Throggs Neck Shopping Center, a 300,000-SF retail development owned by Simone Development Companies. Karnit Mosberg of Royal Properties represented both the tenant and the landlord in the transaction.

The Populous-designed, $40.4M Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence (RACE) has opened on the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) campus.
RACE will serve as the central hub of UTSA Athletics and help attract Division I student-athletes to the school. The nearly 95,000-sf facility spans more than 10 acres near the southwest corner of the UTSA Main Campus. It will feature multiple practice fields (one synthetic field and one natural grass field), academic spaces, a sports medicine center, strength and conditioning facilities, locker rooms, meeting rooms, a student-athlete lounge, and office space for coaches and administrative staff.

Populous, a powerhouse in venue design and large-scale event execution, will execute a baseball-themed triple-play via the seasons three highest profile MLB events, including the MLB All Star Game in Denver, Little League Classic in Pennsylvania, and, most notably, the Field of Dreams game in Iowa. The newly designed ballpark was purpose-built for the game to be held in the cornfield where the movie was originally filmed.
